World War III?

This situation is actually closer to reality than most Americans are fully aware of, and who are already weary from years of war in Afghanistan and Iraq. The rock music industry has been one of the most vocal elements of the entertainment industry to raise awareness of such issues. Recently musicians such as Dave Mustaine from Megadeth and Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins, have taken the spotlight in the media to warn against the coming changes in a new world order.
So what else are politically aware musicians pointing out on this potential global disaster? A round table featuring a diverse selection of artists shared their views on the recent conflict in the Middle East.
"I believe that Israel is waiting on the outcome of the U.S. election before they make a move, but all the signs point to yes and very soon" said Matt Story, lead singer of the classic hard rock group Omen. "Will it lead to a World War? It sure as hell could!"
"I feel that this is just all political talk that we hear from our government, about strikes on Iranian nuclear plants" says Igor Torgovetski of the Israeli rock group R.O.L (Reflection of Life), who sits at ground zero of the situation. "If they want to strike, why talk about it and not just do it? I try not to take serious any news that I hear from our side or their side. I'm almost sure that underneath all this media talk, things are happening and no one really knows."
The current crisis in Syria is also another factor that has contributed to the flow of a regional war, as Turkey has now entered into the scenario. Turkey’s prime minister Tayyip Erdogan said his country is “not far” from war.
"Yes, there could be war in the Middle East and it could also lead to World War 3" says political rocker Rob Chevelle of the Los Angeles group Lit Soul, "in my opinion that is what the world criminal bankers want... and are actively creating. War is the biggest industry in the world. It makes debt for banks to profit from and it makes very large contracts for weapons companies. It's paid for by government. However people in the government often work for banks or weapons companies or both. So they are just using government to create wars so that they can personally profit."
Ron Marks was guitarist of the Swiss metal band Celtic Frost, who toured around the world and got a good view of the international vibe, and currently heads the group Subsonic, added "many continue to offer commentaries regarding war between Iran and Israel. I choose to focus upon more timeless observations. Wars are marketed to citizens as being desperate and inevitable national endeavors. Conventional warfare is most certainly a human endeavor. People paid to murder strangers. An unconditional meltdown of human social behavior."
John Bone, lead singer of the hard rockin' group World Beneath World, takes a more spiritual view, "see, there will be war over there and we may very well be involved, if the monetary Iions line up but that is all cosmetics. We have to be concerned with peace between those countries before the end, I must tell you, with Israel and Iran, it is going to be reinforced by God's will."
"Iranians say a lot of words but haven't done anything" said Torgovetski, "they proclaim publicly that they want to wipe us from the face of the Earth, and we are only trying to defend ourselves. As an Israeli, I'm worried about the whole thing but I know that the justice in on our side."
Iran recently argued that Israel should join the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) in order for a nuclear-free Middle East to take shape, Iran’s Ambassador to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Ali Asghar Soltanieh said. GCC countries, which are Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman, have recently participated in joint naval exercises in the gulf region, further ruffling Iran's feathers.
"Diplomatic solutions are no longer an option. Even though war is wrong, we must fight it out. We cannot retire without dishonor (apologies to Mark Twain). Instead, let's indoctrinate a global practice requiring only government members of opposing nations to engage in battle. I believe that diplomatic solutions would suddenly achieve unprecedented levels of success" stated Marks.
Tensions continue to rise throughout the Middle East following the "Arab Spring" with many nations such as Egypt, Libya, and Tunisia now run by radical entities, who are not clearly allied with the U.S. or its agenda. A regional war is very certain, with Israel being the main root of hostilities, as a new wave of hard line religious anger engulfs the region into a major and deadly conflict.
"Respected theologians have earmarked 2033 as the end, we may not be here too see it, God's will is our major concern and when it involves peace over there, we had better be ready to face the Lamb!" says Bone.
What would be the outcome of such an event as World War? "If it was a thermonuclear war, I don’t envision much of a world left" said Story. "However, there is always hope that somewhere among the destruction and chaos, a small child finds a Marshall stack, a guitar, and a catalog of the best metal ever created so life can begin again!"
